Transit
My interest in transit has developed beyond the window seat of planes and into the complex, interconnected nature of transit that combines technological marvel, human psychology, urban spaces and the power of movement - including how essential accessible travel is to everyone. Exploring these topics has been a fascinating experience so far into the human and technical side of transit from experts and advocates which I continue to expand my own learning and knowledge in. Human Transit, by Jarrett Walker, has to be the layman’s guide to almost everything ‘transit’. Although from an aviation background, this book gave me the 101 to everything transit - from geometry considerations, to bus spacing and frequency right through to pricing.

When Driving Is Not An Option by Anna Zivarts is a book that has fundamentally cemented my view that our car centricity is both harmful to our urban spaces and helped me to develop a deep empathy for those where driving just isn’t possible.
